The first few strokes of the brush are the most fun and the most frenzied. I begin setting the stage and honing in on the lighting and mood in the room.

As everyone gets settled, I begin to notice interactions; the gesture of a hand, tilt of a head, waiter serving a dish, etc. All of these details together create a moment never to be recreated and and evening to remember.
When the event is over it's back to the studio to add the final touches. Here is the finished painting from the Tuxedo Park Club.
